The Medical Research Archives is the official journal of the European Society of Medicine. It was founded in 2014 and is open access (although it was not originally).

History

Founded in 2014, the journal is nine year old as of the time of the writing. The Medical Research Archives was originally published quarterly but is now published monthly. In 2020 it became the official journal of the European Society of Medicine.

Accepted manuscripts are made available online immediately after acceptance or within 30 days.

The journal publishes original research, reviews, and case reports addressing health issues of interest to a global community of medical professionals. Submissions from non-members of the society are accepted. The Medical Research Archives is a supporter of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment, and thus has not applied for an impact factor.

Mission Statements

The Medical Research Archives aims to be a leading international archive of research in all specialties of medicine, and to support the advancement of medical research by:

  • Preserving published works by ensuring their continued accessibility
  • Promoting the sharing of information and ideas
  • Providing a thorough and objective peer-review process
